Slope Control — Limitations
Define the finished purpose, reference levels, underlying material condition and the evidence required by the receiving operation. Geometry alone does not establish structural or agronomic performance.
This reference assembles relevant extracts from the guide library. It is general project planning, not a local project report, verified specification or translated technical publication.
Precision Grade Control
Precision grade control is the stage where a reference system is commissioned for the intended surface. It needs design transfer and equipment checks before productive grading.
Before moving material
Confirm design revision, datum and the working-edge reference.
Receiving operation and checks
Verify surface results independently during and after the work. Record calibration and any reference interruptions.
Machine guidance is not acceptance certification.

Slope control maintains an intended change in level along a direction. Correct slope requires both the gradient and its connection to known elevations.
Before moving material
Confirm slope direction, end levels and datum.
Receiving operation and checks
Measure intermediate and end points after work. Check for local reversals concealed between correct end levels.
The appropriate gradient comes from the project, not the guidance system.

Fall calculation converts a slope and distance into a change in elevation. It does not decide which slope the project requires. For example, 300 metres at 1 in 5,000 gives a geometric fall of 60 millimetres.
Before moving material
Choose the measurement direction and confirm the units.
Receiving operation and checks
Compare planned end levels and intermediate checks with the design. Check millimetres versus metres and whether the entered distance is horizontal.
The example is geometry only, not an irrigation or drainage design recommendation.
