Precision grade control is the stage where a reference system is commissioned for the intended surface. It needs design transfer and equipment checks before productive grading.

Confirm design revision, datum and the working-edge reference.

Receiving operation and checks

Verify surface results independently during and after the work. Record calibration and any reference interruptions.

Machine guidance is not acceptance certification.

Civil Construction

Civil construction grading sits within a design, material and inspection sequence. The useful question is which layer is being handed to which contractor, not whether the site merely looks level.

Confirm approved drawings, services and inspection hold points.

Receiving operation and checks

Verify the completed layer before the next trade covers it. Record levels, material records and unresolved defects together.

Dugong may suit controlled redistribution; deep excavation and engineered fill acceptance need their own methods.

Road Construction

Road construction requires coordinated longitudinal grade, crossfall, material layers and drainage. Fine shaping should follow an accepted underlying formation rather than conceal its defects.

Set out the road alignment and drainage connections.

Receiving operation and checks

Compact and inspect before placing the next road layer. Check edges, transitions and outlet continuity in addition to centreline levels.

Road design and traffic management are project-specific responsibilities.

• Required finished purpose, receiving operation and acceptance criteria
• Material type, layer role, source, receiving area and volume state

• Available tractor, implement configuration, travel route and turning space
• Checks before work, stopping points and evidence retained at handover
